Travel Tuesday-Porto!

we took this trip just before I started the blog, but it was just to juicy with gorgeous imagery not to share! Our destination was Porto but we couldn't resist stopping en route in Coimbra, famed for its university students who wear very witchy style caps as part of the alumni and the science museum was small but perfectly formed. As we were driving in, the buildings and parks were so enticing we had to park up and have a little look! the first six photos below are a mixture of Porto and Coimbra architecture and the next six are the science museum.

Once in Porto we absolutely loved spotting all the street art and creative window displays around the city.

The patterns and motifs were insane..... I couldn't walk 2 metres without spotting something else, just so, so beautiful.

We stopped in at the Majestic Cafe, reputedly a spotted visited by JK Rowling but even though its over hyped, it was still gorgeous inside, opulent but accessible at the same time.

M and I queued and queued and QUEUED to pay a visit to the Livraria Lello which was I have to say, completely worth it. I definitely feel sorry for the locals that have to put up with the Harry Potter mania that has taken over it, but I still just adore bookshops and I loved being able to share the experience with her.

We ate the most delicious food, our hunt for vegan restaurants paid off, and I even found Brigadieros! tried Green wine, (which was amazing) and we basically just drank in the buzz and the

I think this last set sums up the mood and feel of the trip, a delicious colour palette of dark wood, creams, mustards and of course, black! It felt sophisticated to visit this place as our first city since covid began and it was so worth it!
